Easter and Hot Cross Buns 2

Traditional hot cross buns are spiced sweet yeasted buns containing raisins or currants which are traditionally eaten on Good Friday.
They are decorated with a flour-paste cross representing the crucifixion and are often glazed with syrup and served warm with butter.
Common spices include cinnamon, mixed spice and nutmeg. Sometimes citrus peel is included.
Then a decade or so ago chocolate chip versions appeared.
Now it’s open slather. Anything goes.
Back in 2019 I posted about new versions.
All sorts of even more weird combinations are now available.
Here’s a few from our region.
