The co driver wanted to go to the Australasian Quilt Show in Melbourne.
So we decided to take a few days there and use up the last of our airline pandemic credits.
It’s a two hour or so drive to Canberra airport and then a fifty minute flight to Melbourne.
We stayed in the ‘happening’ suburb of Fitzroy with its huge selection of restaurants and bars and only a short walk to the Royal Exhibition Building were the quilt show was being held.
While she spent half a day at the show I did my own walking tour of the city’s tourist icons including the Lane Art area and Southbank.
On the other free day we visited the Melbourne Now exhibition at the Ian Potter Centre of the National Gallery of Victoria,
And of course we indulged in a bit of food extravaganza which totally shot our diets to bits.
A video of our time in the city can be found at this link.
